Raised Hands
“Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord.” -Psalms 134:2
During worship here at ROLC, hands are often lifted in praise as a sign of worship, surrender, or openness to receive from the Lord.

Clapping/Dancing
“O clap your hands, all ye people; shout to God with the voice of Joy”
Psalms 47:1
“Let them praise His name with dancing; let them sing praises…”
   Psalms 149:3

Laying On Of Hands

“for this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” -2 Timothy 1:6

We believe in the laying on of hands in prayer as a sign of agreement and point of contact for impartation.

Singing

“with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, sing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” -Colossians 3:16

We believe singing is one of the key ways in which we worship God.

Shouts Of Joy

“my lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to Thee…” – Psalms 71:23

“…shout for the Lord has given you the city” – Joshua 6:16

We believe in the shout of joy as worship and as a declaration of God’s rule and authority.

Instruments

“Praise Him with the trumpet sound, praise Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with the timbrel and dancing; Praise Him with the stringed instruments and pipe, praise Him with the loud cymbals; Praise Him with resounding cymbals.” -Psalms 150:3-5

Falling Out In The Spirit

“When I saw Him (Jesus), I fell at his feet as dead. But he laid his right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid!”..”   Psalms 150:3-5

People react in different ways when the supernatural power of God touches them. Often people are overcome and “lose bodily strength” or “fall out.”

Tongues

“Now I wish that you all spoke in tongues…” -1 Corinthians 14:5

We believe that one of the evidences of the Holy Spirit baptism is speaking in other tongues. We also believe that this is still operating in the church today.

Prophecy & Revelation

“…When you meet, one will sing, another will teach, another will tell some special revelation God has given, one will speak in an unknown language, while another will interpret what is said…” -1 Corinthians 14:26

During our services often someone will have a revelation from the Lord, or a word of scripture, or a word of knowledge. We welcome the use of these gifts among us.

Flags & Banners

“May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory, flying banners to honor our God…”-Psalm 20:5

We often use banners and flags as visible expressions of celebration and victory, as symbols of honor and allegiance, and extensions of our personal worship.
